On Saturday 11th June Sheffield Cathedral will be marking Her Majesty The Queen's 90th birthday with a very special celebration.
A 'Kings and Queens' banquet will be held for 90 people over 70 years of age who have been nominated by members of the community to honour the contribution they have made in the community over many years.
The banquet will include music from a Piano Trio and a Gospel choir and each person will receive a rose as a sign of God’s love for them. Guests will also receive a complementary booklet entitled The Servant Queen And The King She Serves published by the Bible Society, HOPE and LICC.
The Cathedral will be closed to the public between 10am and 3pm for the celebration, with Morning Prayer and Holy Communion taking place at 9am.
We want to thank everyone who joined us during this year’s festive period - visitors, congregation members, tourists, performers - for filling the Cathedral with joy, music, and community spirit. A special thanks also goes to our staff and volunteers, whose dedication and care made all of these celebrations possible.
