The World Reimagined and the Church of England join together to unite communities at Sheffield Cathedral
Sheffield Cathedral is delighted to host The Triangle of Unity Learning Programme — a national art and education initiative from The World Reimagined and the Church of England’s Racial Justice Unit. The project encourages young people to explore heritage, climate change, identity and global connections through creative learning.
From 22 January to 10 March, visitors can enjoy a vibrant display of 10 Globe sculptures created by pupils from Rossington All Saints Academy, Rossington St Michael’s C of E Primary School, and collaborating artists.
A special Triangle of Unity Family Event will take place on 14 February. The free event will feature an African drumming workshop, circus skills, and craft-making activities for all ages.
Michelle Gayle, CEO of The World Reimagined, said: “The Triangle of Unity Learning Programme invites young people to explore the lived experiences of elders in their own families, while engaging in Atlantic Triangle conversations rooted in empathy and justice. By bringing together heritage, climate change, and art, we aim to inspire a generation of changemakers and strengthen connections within and between communities.”
Dean Abi, the Dean of Sheffield Cathedral said, ‘Sheffield Cathedral is proud to be part of the Triangle of Unity Learning Programme. Rooted in worship, education, and public life, we are committed to being a place for all people, where young people can explore identity, heritage, and responsibility for our shared world. This project brings together art, faith, and education in a powerful way. We are delighted to welcome pupils, families and the wider city to engage with these stories of connection, creativity, and hope.’
Triangle of Unity is a UK-wide programme that helps young people explore their identity, heritage, and relationship with the environment through storytelling, art, and intergenerational learning. It forms part of The World Reimagined’s ongoing mission to build connection, understanding, and social cohesion across communities.
