Sheffield Cathedral is looking to appoint a Chapter Safeguarding Lead - a non executive member of Chapter, serving as a Charity Trustee under the Cathedrals Measure 2021.
Alongside the Dean and two Residentiary Canons (the Executive Members of Chapter) they oversee and direct the mission and work of the Cathedral. Members of Chapter hold significant responsibility for the governance of the Cathedral with an overview of all its activities.
The Chapter Safeguarding Lead holds strategic oversight of safeguarding policy and practice across the Cathedral, working closely with the Dean, Cathedral Safeguarding Adviser and team, and other key stakeholders to ensure the Cathedral maintains the highest standards of safeguarding for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
