One Body, Many Parts

It is now three weeks since I was ordained and started to work at the Cathedral. It has been a busy and exciting few weeks, meeting a lot of people, being introduced to the patterns of worship, and the range of activities that happen throughout the week.

It has been wonderful to hear about and see the different roles and gifts that so many people bring to the life and worship of the Cathedral, like a complex body with many parts.

As St Paul writes…

...there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit, and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord, and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. 1 Cor 12.4-6

Thank you for helping me to feel so welcome. Thank you to those who have showed me around and those who have helped me to see the Cathedral through their eyes. Thank you to those who have offered encouraging words, and those who have explained a particular aspect, activity or service.

I am looking forward to all the opportunities the Cathedral brings, and how that will help shape my faith and worship, as we together grow in our callings and gifts, as the Body of Christ. And if you see me wondering about looking lost or confused please point me in the right direction.
