Sheffield Cathedral Choir is one of the leading mixed-voice choirs in South Yorkshire and the only professional ensemble of its kind in the region. It brings together choristers aged 7–13, choral scholars from local universities, and professional adult singers.
The choir is at the heart of worship at the Cathedral, singing at multiple services each week as well as for major diocesan and civic occasions. They are also regularly invited to perform at significant city events, including the annual Remembrance Day procession to the cenotaph, with recent appearances at Cutlers’ Hall and Sheffield Town Hall. Broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and ITV, alongside a strong catalogue of recordings, have helped grow the choir’s national profile.
Both locally and nationally, the choir offers the finest Anglican choral music to the highest standards, while providing a truly outstanding musical education for its young choristers.
