Last Thursday, Queen Elizabeth II visited Sheffield Cathedral to present the Royal Maundy service to 89 men and 89 women in recognition for their service to the local community.

Sheffield Cathedral have taken delivery of a pair of newly commissioned processional candle stands. 

Today the Cathedral held a special event for the recipients of the Maundy money.

The Royal Maundy service has been a key date in the Royal and Christian calendars in the UK for over 800 years.
