The Church of England is asking all cathedrals to participate in a safeguarding audit, much as every diocese did two years ago.
As part of this process, Sheffield Cathedral was visited by SCIE (the Social Care Institute for Excellence) for an audit of safeguarding provision during November 2019. The report from the Audit was published on 22 January 2020.
The Chapter of Sheffield Cathedral has welcomed the SCIE report, and has accepted the findings of SCIE in full. The Cathedral will be using the report to inform its developing plans for safeguarding, and will ensure that the findings will be implemented in full, working closely with the Diocese of Sheffield and other agencies.
