Handel’s Messiah – Come and Sing with Sheffield Cathedral Choir and the West Riding Ensemble

Step into the festive season with a unique opportunity to sing Handel’s Messiah alongside Sheffield Cathedral Choir and the West Riding Ensemble.

This “Come and Sing” event invites singers of all backgrounds to take part in a full day of music-making in the glorious setting of Sheffield Cathedral. Under the expert direction of Tom Daggett, you’ll rehearse during the day before performing to a live audience as part of the evening concert.

Your day will include:

  • Morning workshop with conductor Tom Daggett

  • Afternoon rehearsal with choir and orchestra

  • The chance to perform as part of Sheffield Cathedral’s first festive concert of the season

Whether you’re a seasoned chorister or a keen amateur, this is your chance to join the triumph of the “Hallelujah” chorus and many more glorious moments in a supportive, uplifting atmosphere.

Registration: from 10:30am
Workshop & Rehearsal: 11:00am – 6:00pm
Concert Performance: 7.30pm

Musical note: We will sing everything apart from the following movements: 10, 11, 18, 30, 34–36, 41, 49, 50.
