The free mini-tours (10-15 minutes each) will feature:

  • Stained glass windows

  • Shrewsbury Chapel

  • St. Georges Chapel

  • Centre part of the Nave

  • Crypt & Chapel of the Holy Spirit

  • Lantern window

  • Faith based mini tour

The free mini-tours will be available for drop-in sessions between 10am and 3pm.

Family activities

Families can take up the challenge of our mythical beast trail....will you find the cheeky Gargoyle and did you know the Cathedral has its own unicorn?

Afterwards, why not stop at the free children's crafting table to make your own nature inspired artwork, try on our bespoke children's vestments and then become an engineer and build your own cathedral using magnetic tiles.

Children can borrow a pair of binoculars to help them explore the amazing sights at all eye levels.

Café

Our 1554 cafe will be open throughout the day, until 4.30pm, serving a range of delicious drinks and snacks and our gift shop stocks a wide range of artisan products for Sheffield makers.

Outside the building you can enjoy a display of Sheffield Morris Dancing from 11am. Sheffield Cathedral is a place for all people, so why not come along and see what the building at the heart of the city centre has to offer you.

Accessibility

We have accessible lifts to most areas of the building, due to the age of some parts of the building there are changing and uneven levels throughout the building, there will be staff available throughout the day to help with lift access. We are a dog friendly building.
