With the exception of Advent and Lent (normally December and February/March) there are flower arrangements, produced by the Cathedral Flower Guild, at certain places in the Cathedral. If you consider that these floral displays are adequate for your wedding there will be no charge to you, but a donation would be very much appreciated.
If you require special floral displays the Cathedral Flower Guild will be pleased to produce them for you at a charge of from £75 per stand (depending on choice of flowers and season of the year). These flowers will then remain in the Cathedral for the next week. For full details and to book the Guild please contact the Cathedral office, telephone number 0114 275 3434. If you would like to employ a florist to arrange your flowers then you may do so provided they comply with the Cathedral guidelines. The florist concerned must contact Mrs Peers before planning your floral arrangements. Failure to do this could cause you a serious disappointment. We ask that the flowers are left in the Cathedral after the wedding.
1 Please note that the Songmen and Choristers are not always available (especially during school holiday periods). Confirmation of the availability of Songmen and/or Choristers will be given to the bride and groom at least four weeks before the marriage service.
2 If you are having an order of service printed, the copy will need to be checked with the Precentor or the officiating minister BEFORE sending details to the printers.
3 The making of videos or audio recording of the marriage service Please note that if you engage an engineer to make any audio or visual recording of the marriage service, you must comply with legal provisions concerning copyright. An audio or visual recording of the service may ONLY be made with the consent in writing of the Dean of Sheffield and the Master of the Music on behalf of himself and members of the Music Department and Cathedral Choir. The music to be played on the organ or sung by the Choir must also be arranged with the agreement of the organist who is to play at the marriage service. Additional fees have to be charged for such a recording; and you will be asked to sign a contract governing the use and sale of any audio or visual recording of the service.
Please note that if anyone is seen recording the service when such a recording has NOT been authorised in writing by the Dean of Sheffield and the Master of the Music, that person will be asked to stop recording immediately, and to surrender their recording equipment into the care of a member of the Cathedral staff. The equipment will be returned to its owner at the end of the service.
