Baptisms are for parents who want to mark the occasion of their child's birth as well as for adults of any age.

Here at Sheffield Cathedral we welcome children to our services. If you are a parent or looking after a young child you may feel anxious about bringing them to a service in case they make a noise. Please believe that we are happy to have the children with us. They often enjoy the atmosphere of worship, and like to see what is going on. We also provide activities especially designed for children to take part in during the services.
Here at the Cathedral baptised children of any age are welcome to take a full part in the Eucharist by receiving the bread and wine of communion. We leave this to the parent or carer’s discretion, just tell the people administering the bread and the cup what your wishes are.
Happy bags can be obtained from the stewards at the Sunday morning service. In them you will find toys and books for quiet play for young children.
