Sheffield Cathedral, a place for all people
Launch of new website

Sheffield Cathedral re-vamps website with 21st century features

10 August 2010

Sheffield Cathedral has received funding to commission a Sheffield based design agency Seven Creative to build a brand new website which will be launched in the autumn.

The site will be more user friendly and engaging making it easier to navigate and find out more about all areas of Cathedral life. The new website integrate new Web 2.0 interactive features such as a ‘behind the scenes’ virtual tour of the Cathedral, interactive timeline, online donations & event or conference booking facilities, ‘live’ sermons and for the first time an online Cathedral shop, where concert tickets and Cathedral merchandise can be purchased. Visitors to the site will also be able to follow the Dean’s very own blog and link to the Cathedral’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

The re-vamped site goes live on Monday 20th September, officially launched at an event that evening in the Cathedral for local businesses and individuals to attend. The Cathedral will be a hub of inter-activity with entertainment, food and music plus the opportunity to test out the new site.

Peter Bradley, Dean of Sheffield Cathedral said “I will be very proud to launch Sheffield Cathedral’s stunning new website at our event in September. Our 21st century Cathedral will be available at the click of a mouse and I am looking forward to being able to offer all our resources electronically which in turn will enable the Cathedral to achieve its mission and continue to be ‘a place for all people“.
