Andrew Coombe, Chair of the Sheffield Cathedral Council, has been appointed as Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant for South Yorkshire following the retirement of David Moody on 7th April 2015.

Speaking to the Sheffield Telegraph, Andrew said:

“I am humbled and honoured in equal measure. I will do my best to serve the Queen, the county of South Yorkshire and to build on the magnificent work of my predecessor. David Moody has done a superb job and will be a hard act to follow - I wish both him and his wife Sue a richly deserved, long and happy retirement.”

We wish Andrew every success in his new role.
