Whatever the learning needs of your students, Sheffield Cathedral will be happy to help you fulfil them.
We can offer a learning experience and resources for aspects of RE that are matched to the National Curriculum.
With its many memorials, ancient furniture, story-telling stained glass windows and military chapels, Sheffield Cathedral is also a goldmine of information on the history of the community in Sheffield and South Yorkshire. Why not cover elements of the Literacy curriculum using the stories the Cathedral tells? We are happy to talk to you about tailoring events and materials to your particular needs.
We can accommodate small and large groups for guided or self-guided visits. We can not only offer you the resources of the ancient Cathedral building, but also rooms you can book, with IT, stationery and art materials for classroom work.
We have an accessible entrance, and our new meeting rooms are fully wheelchair accessible. We are able to cater for students with special needs - please talk to us about your particular requirements.
Please contact us for further information by email or by telephone (0114 275 3434) and we will be happy to talk to you. Alternatively call in, have a look at what Sheffield Cathedral has to offer, and make an appointment to discuss a possible visit.
Sheffield Cathedral works closely with several partner organisations within the city. We can help you arrange a two part visit with another city attraction to help you meet your children’s learning needs.
The Cathedral offers an event specific risk assessment which has been completed within Sheffield LA visit guidelines.
This risk assessment is provided to assist school groups with planning their visit to Sheffield Cathedral. It is strongly recommended that the member of staff organising the trip pays an initial visit to the Cathedral in order to carry out their own risk assessment, which can include the journey to and from the Cathedral.
