Welcome to Fundraising & Support at Sheffield Cathedral

Sheffield Cathedral is here for the people of Sheffield and South Yorkshire, and it is here because of the people of Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

Cathedrals receive no government funding, and are dependent on the generosity of charitable trusts and individuals for much of the work they do.

Here in Sheffield we are fortunate that we have the generous support of the Church Burgesses Trust, which enables us to maintain our magnificent building and employ our staff. But we need to expand and develop if we are to be a Cathedral for the 21st century city. We have a vision for the future, based on consultations with the people of the church and city about what they need from us. We intend to be a Cathedral brimming with life, a place of prayer and worship, a place of welcome for adults and children, a place of learning and fun, of profound appreciation of music and the arts, a place of peace. We have embarked on the 'Gateway Project', which will ensure that the Cathedral building is preserved for the future and renewed so that it has the flexibility it needs if it is to serve the whole community.

We need your help. If you value this Cathedral and what it stands for, perhaps you will be able to help us to achieve our aims and develop our work. Perhaps you have some time to spare - there are many opportunities for volunteering. Perhaps you are able to plan to leave us a legacy in your will. Perhaps you can offer us fundraising help. Perhaps you are interested in being involved in music, or helping with our archives, or.... make us an offer!
