Becoming a corporate partner of Sheffield Cathedral can offer your business many benefits.

Education and Outreach 

In 2007 Sheffield Cathedral launched what is now a highly successful project called Sing! The aim is to encourage regular singing in primary schools, most of which are in very challenging socio-economic areas of Sheffield, and in doing so, to introduce the joys of singing to over 1220 children each year who may otherwise not have the opportunity to experience them.  Click here to read more about Sing!

Sing! costs £24,000 each year to run and sponsorship donations can support all or one of the following areas:

  • Animateur work in schools
  • Concerts
  • Choir Outreach visits
  • Junior Choir
  • Training scheme

Community Resource Centre

Prior to opening its doors in 2007, a major fundraising appeal was launched to build the Community Resource Centre and then to further involve the development of the Cathedral Archer Project .  A staggering £4.8m was raised in total to make these two projects happen and they continue to thrive and serve the community as they initially set out to do.

Choir

There was a choir of men and boys in the old Parish Church of Sheffield for centuries, and when that church was raised to the status of a Cathedral in 1913, the tradition continued. In recent years the music of the Cathedral has vastly expanded and today there is a very busy programme of services and concerts throughout the year.

The boy and girl choristers all receive individual singing tuition from a specialist vocal tutor during their time in the choir, and in addition to their regular services, the Cathedral Choir often gives concerts in the Cathedral and beyond, broadcasts on radio and television, tours in the UK and abroad, and makes recordings for CDs.  Click here to find out more about the choir.
