Accessibility statement

At Sheffield Cathedral, we are committed to continually making improvements to our site in order to meet W3C web content accessibility guidelines, and our website has been designed with the following accessibility guidelines in mind:

  • Our pages are designed so that they can be viewed at a screen resolution of 850 pixels wide.
  • Page structure is conveyed using header elements.
  • The Sheffield Cathedral website uses stylesheets to control layout and presentation, and relative font sizes on all text with the exception of graphical text.
  • Text can be increased or decreased in size by using the "view" option in your browser.
  • Where non-text elements are used, a text equivalent has been provided
  • No information is exclusively conveyed using colour.
  • A site map is available to provide information about the layout of the website.
  • Changes in the natural language, e.g. quotes, are clearly identified.
  • Although the site is built using a stylesheet, html documents may still be read in the absence of the stylesheet.
  • Image maps provided are client rather than server side and provide redundant text links for each region of the map.

PC / Internet Explorer 7+: From the menu bar underneath the search field, select Page and point to Text size

PC / other browsers: Increase text size: Hold down the CTRL key and press "+" Decrease text size: Hold down the CTRL key and press "-"

Mac / all browsers: Increase text size: Hold down the Command key and press "+" Decrease text size: Hold down the Command key and press" -"
